Last month I experienced my first mastermind retreat. Lots of firsts for me here. I have never been in a high level mastermind before and never attended a business retreat. Nervousness and excitement ensued before leaving for Arizona.
I joined Bonnie Christine’s mastermind for creative entrepreneurs at the end of the year and we have been meeting online since January for our monthly meetings but and this is the first time I get to meet everyone in person. There’s approximately 28 of us attending from all over North America and some abroad via Zoom to have three days of connecting, business talks, workshops and fun.
After arriving at my Airbnb that I shared with others, we had a fun dinner out for the first night of those who arrived a day early. After a good night’s sleep the next day the festivities began. Day 1 was a fun day. We visited the Desert Botanical Garden and wow it didn’t disappoint. It was enormous and we didn’t even see all the gardens. It was a hot day and we found ourselves sitting in the shade watercoloring our surroundings. It was a great way to chat and hang out with my fellow creative besties. After a healthy, light lunch we headed to the venue to see it for the first time and participate in an incredible workshop surprise - ceramics!
We were given slabs of clay to make anything. I haven’t worked with clay in a long time and found myself getting lost in the process and making a paint palette. I just got it in the mail! I love how it came out. Our Instructor, Krista Coons, was fantastic. A very patient, encouraging guide that made you feel you can do anything. I loved seeing the other’s projects. Everyone has such different touches and ideas.
The next couple of days was filled with a fancy dinner, informative business talks, breakout groups and hotseats. I enjoyed meeting everyone and learning how I can level up my business practices, structures and strategies. It is an impressive group of amazing women who are really going for their dreams and taking exciting risks and moves in their businesses. We have more retreats coming up to continue my growth I am so thrilled to be among this group of movers and shakers.
