COLOR, TEXTURE + PATTERN is JOY!
Jeanetta Gonzales is a Los Angeles based designer, illustrator and artist’s coach, who has created artwork for Target, The New York Times, Michaels, Crayola, Adobe, Facebook, and The California Lottery.
Over the past 20 years, Jeanetta has worked as a graphic designer and art director for boutique studios and large companies such as Mattel and the Disney Store. She is also a talented surface designer and has created prints and designs for products like apparel, stationery and home decor sold in major stores, including Target, Michaels, TJ Maxx, Trader Joes and Home Goods. Jeanetta is also a commercial illustrator creating art for publications and books. She illustrated her first children’s book, Our Story Starts in Africa, written by Patrice Lawrence and published by Magic Cat Publishing (a UK imprint of Abrams Kids books). Jeanetta also designs her own products and you can find her art for sale in her shop.
Known for creating art that delights and inspires and her expertise in design, Jeanetta’s work and writing has been featured in blogs and magazines including Apartment Therapy, Spoonflower.com, Flow Magazine, Domino.com and Uppercase Magazine.
Jeanetta describes herself as a free-spirited artist who loves nature. For her, the imperfect is beautiful. As a result, she finds inspiration in the curves, colors and textures that surround us. While Jeanetta enjoys looking at the small details, she’s not afraid to make bold statements. Using her training in Fine Art and Graphic Design, she blends the traditional and modern to capture moods and moments. Using a combination of paint, inks and digital illustration, Jeanetta creates her vibrant art that evokes happiness, energy, inspiration and positivity through her love of drawing plants, women, flowers and lettering phrases. To her, color, texture and pattern is JOY!
Seeing and hearing a need for support for artists, Jeanetta uses her experience as a commercial artist, designer and business owner and shares her knowledge with artists interested in brand clarity and developing their work and business. Jeanetta can be found mentoring through one-on-one coaching, teaching at art colleges, writing for blogs, speaking at creative conferences and creating video lessons and content for brands.
